The Soft Launch and Beta Testing!

TFOEM’s soft launch went off smoothly. The team is grateful to the Bay Beat Collective (BBC) for supporting our soft launch at their event on 25/09/09. We have uploaded our concept video and a sign up for the Beta testing at tfoem.org. At the moment there is no direct link to sign up for the online TFOEM platform. It can only be obtained if you sign up for the beta testing and receive an email with the link and instructions for creating an account for the TFOEM platform. There are still kinks and errors that are being worked on, and the TFOEM team is curbing the amount of information that gets loaded on to the site until these errors are fixed and the site can be opened to the public.

The Freedom of Expression Movement The Freedom Of Expression Movement (TFOEM) is a charitable organization, which aims to catalyze the shift from social awareness to social activism by bringing people, organizations and institutions together through an online platform supported by TFOEM’s ‘Public Involvement’ events. Such ‘Public Involvement’ events will generate awareness for TFOEM.org and thus bring light to all the causes and institutions affiliated with the movement. These events are aimed at increasing the TFOEM member base in order to further the movement’s goals. Public Involvement events are designed to integrate the public with various causes. For example, Project Eyeball: “Eye Like it”, is a sub-movement initiated by TFOEM that aims to inspire people to use any form of expression to attract ‘Eye Balls’. Dancing on the streets, flash crowds, street theatre et cetera are examples. As long as such activities, directly or indirectly, help manifest TFOEM’s goals, the sub-movement will be successful. The Platform, tfoem.org enables like-minded entities to work together and synergistically towards a common cause. Registered members of tfoem.org can create causes and build awareness for them through TFOEM’s network. With enough support, the founders of these causes can create and organize events, thus completing the shift from social awareness to social activism. Ashoka’s Youth Ventures, a global movement that inspires, invests, and supports young people to lead social change, has joined hands with the TFOEM team to create the first series of ‘causes’ that will be listed on TFOEM.org. We have pledged a proportion of our initial funding to showcase and further enhance/develop the reach of several youth ventures operating in Mumbai. TFOEM aims to develop the relationship between people, the planet and profit. By drawing on the concept of the “triple bottom line” the key to profit optimization and sustainability in the social sector is taking into account the effects of any action on all three components together: people, planet and profit.

Cause and Effect!

The Freedom of Expression Movement is about creating a platform for individuals and entities to express freely without fear or intolerance.

The hope is that individual expression that is inspiring and motivating will get the energy from various people that are inspired and motivated and eventually become a ’cause’.

Currently the phase II of the website is being developed and the primary objective is to have a platform where causes will be featured and associated with members and events, to bring about more awareness to social causes.

Eventually, the most inspiring and motivating causes will start to take ‘effect’, which TFOEM and its members will further support.

Who we are

We are an association of individuals committed to action to make every person aware of his or her birthright to freedom of expression. As our association grows, our movement will take its course and take the form and shape of every individual that shares this platform.
